The Farmers Insurance Group of Companies developed the Reserve Agent Program as an opportunity for prospective Agency Owners to make a smooth transition from their current employment to a new career with Farmers. Farmers Insurance is unique in the insurance industry in that Reserve Producers are allowed the opportunity to maintain their current job while training part-time to become an Agency Owners. Although we do have Agency Owners who pursue the Reserve Program full-time, most Reserve candidates continue with their current job as they begin preparation to change to an insurance career.
The Reserve Program officially begins on the date both insurance licenses become effective and the Company has appointed you as a Farmers Producer in our District. All Reserve Producers earn full commission dollars on policies they sell during the Reserve Program.
The Reserve Program is based on a temporary agency contract. Farmers Insurance requires all Reserve Producers to be on the Reserve Program for no more than twelve (12) months.
The Career Program is the first two (2) years of the full-time Farmers contract. At this stage in your Farmers career, you should have broken all ties with your previous employer and now pursuing your Farmers career full-time.
During the Career Program, Farmers Insurance will provide you with financial assistance for the initial development of your agency. This financial assistance is referred to as Career Trainee Subsidy. You will be required to meet and maintain minimum monthly sales production standards to continue Career Trainee Subsidy and to maintain your Farmers contract. The District staff will monitor your progress on the Career Program and provide you with the necessary guidance to help ensure your success.
The training portion of the Career Program is designed to build a solid foundation that will last for the balance of your Farmers Insurance agency career. You will attend many training classes, workshops and seminars during the Career Program, all designed to provide you with the fundamental tools needed to perform your job effectively, as well as to successfully manage and develop your business.
As a Farmers Insurance Agency Owner, your marketing efforts will be backed up by a comprehensive selection of sales aids, marketing programs and advertising support. You will enjoy the benefits of an ongoing Achievement Awards Program, District sales promotions, and bonus programs for both increased production and profitable business. You will be able to develop solid business equity growth in your agency through a program we call Contract Value. The traditional benefits of Group Life, Group Medical, Group Disability, Group Dental & Visual insurance programs are available.
